The murder charge carries an enhancement for using a dangerous or deadly weapon, a knife, in the commission of the crime. The total exposure on the charge and allegation is 26 years to life in State Prison.
Mr. Sullivan is alleged to have stabbed Mr. Quinn to death on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 1:51 a.m. inside the Cadillac Market at 499 Eddy Street in San Francisco. A store employee allegedly witnessed the stabbing and called 911. Read More

San Francisco Woman Sentence to Life in Prison for Murdering her Child
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – District Attorney Kamala D. Harris announced today that Linda Woo, age 43 (Court No. 2260767), was sentenced today to 25 years to life in state prison for first-degree murder and was given a concurrent sentence of life in state prison for attempted murder with premeditation and deliberation.
In April 2009, Woo was convicted by a San Francisco jury for murder and attempted murder for her March 29, 2006 suicide attempt in which she took her 3-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son into the garage of her Ingleside Heights home, told them they were going on a camping trip, and lit a portable barbecue inside a car in the garage. Woman Arraigned on Murder Charge for Beating Man to Death with Clock and Bottle
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – District Attorney Kamala D. Harris announced today that Kira Roueche, 34, was arraigned this morning for a violation of section 187(a) of the California Penal Code for the murder of Cameron Miller, 42. The murder charge carries an enhancement for using a dangerous or deadly weapon in the commission of the crime. The defendant was also arraigned on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon (Penal Code section 245(a)(1)). The first assault count alleges that Roueche used the clock as a deadly weapon and the second assault count alleges that Roueche used the bottle as a deadly weapon. Jury Convicts Woman of 11 Felonies in Piano Consignment Fraud

Harris announced today that Susan Gilner, 66, was convicted of eleven felonies related to her fraudulent conduct in selling pianos on consignment and not paying the victims the proceeds (CN 222363). After a lengthy jury trial before the Honorable Jim Collins of the San Francisco Superior Court, Gilner was convicted by the jury of two counts of forgery and nine counts of embezzlement. The jury found true the allegation that the loss exceeded $50,000. The jury found the defendant not guilty of grand theft charges.

This is the fourth year in a row that the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office has partnered with San Francisco Unified School District to alert parents to the academic, fiscal, social and legal ramifications of chronic and habitual school absence. Last year, elementary and middle school truancy rates dropped on average 20 percent. Since the initiative started, the DA’s Office has had contact with approximately 1,500 students and families through truancy mediations, SARBs (Student Attendance Review Board) and prosecution.

San Francisco, CA - Supervisors David Campos and Sophie Maxwell, District Attorney Kamala D. Harris and Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting announced today the enactment of legislation that will help put an end to loan modification scams in San Francisco.
The measure was initiated by District Attorney Harris and Assessor-Recorder Ting and introduced by Supervisors David Campos and Sophie Maxwell on July 7, 2009. It passed out of the Board of Supervisors’ Land Use Committee with a recommendation for passage by the full Board on August 10, 2009. After two successful readings, the Board of Supervisors gave final approval for the measure on August 18, 2009. Mayor Gavin Newsom signed the legislation into law on August 28, 2009.
