Man Arraigned on Home Invasion Robbery Charges

MAN ARRAIGNED ON HOME INVASION ROBBERY CHARGES

San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Denis Tseyref (CN 11015770) was arraigned on charges of burglary, robbery, assault and false imprisonment.

“The victim suffered a harrowing night of vicious attacks and the invasion of his home,” said District Attorney George Gascón. “This brazen assault violated the victim’s personal safety, the sanctity of the home and the security of the entire community.”

On Wednesday, June 15, 2011, defendant Tseyref appeared before the Honorable Gerardo Sandoval in Department 10 of San Francisco Superior Court for arraignment on one count of first degree residential burglary in violation of California Penal Code Section 459, one count of first degree residential robbery in violation of California Penal Code Section 211, one count of assault with a deadly weapon to wit a hammer in violation of California Penal Code Section 245(a)(1) and false imprisonment in violation of California Penal Code Section 236. The District Attorney’s Office also alleged great bodily injury in violation of California Penal Code Section 12022.7(a) and use of a deadly weapon in violation of California Penal Code Section 12022(b)(1). Defendant Tseyref pled not guilty to all charges and allegations.

According to court documents, on June 13, 2011, defendant Tseyref and another suspect allegedly broke down the door of the location where the victim was and attacked him with a hammer. The other suspect held the victim down while the defendant struck him repeatedly with a hammer. The defendant allegedly took some property from the location belonging to the victim and left the scene. San Francisco Police officers arrived and began to investigate. Later that same morning, San Francisco Police officers located the defendant and arrested him.

Bail has been set in the amount of $200,000. The case was continued to Thursday, July 7, 2011 for preliminary hearing in Department 10.

The arrest of defendant Tseyref is the result of an investigation by the San Francisco Police Department Inspector Kasper, Seargents Dempsy and McKeever and Officers Macaulay, Guillory and Solares. Phil Pritting is the victim witness advocate on the case. Paul Brennan is the Assistant District Attorney prosecuting this case.
