Second Man Charged with Two Felony Counts for Vandalism of MUNI Bus

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Nicholas Hudson, (age 19), was arraigned today on two felony counts for his part in destroying a MUNI bus.

“The Giants winning the World Series is cause for celebration not destruction,” said District Attorney George Gascón. “The behavior of this defendant and others does not reflect on the character of this city. We are asking for the public’s help and cooperation in tracking down the other perpetrators involved in the vandalism and arson of the MUNI bus that evening.”

Defendant Nicholas Hudson has been charged with two felonies for his part in the destruction of a MUNI bus during the World Series celebrations on the evening of October 28, 2012 in the City and County of San Francisco. Hudson is facing one count of vandalism and one count of willful tampering with a passenger transit vehicle. His bail has been set at 40 thousand dollars and he is currently in custody. The remaining suspects are still outstanding. The San Francisco Police Department has an ongoing investigation regarding the remaining suspects involved in the arson and vandalism of the MUNI bus from that evening. In total, 16 cases have been presented to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office by the San Francisco Police Department involving the World Series celebrations from the evening of October 28, 2012. The DA’s office has charged 13 of these cases. The charges include assault on a police officer, vandalism, negligent discharge of a firearm, robbery, resisting arrest, battery and arson of property. The majority of the defendants are from San Francisco.

Mr. Hudson was arraigned today in Department 12 at 1:30pm. He pled not guilty and his case was put over to November 26, 2012 in Dept. 12 at 9am for a preliminary hearing.
