The San Francisco District Attorney's Office has opportunities for attorneys (hired and volunteer), investigators, paralegals, financial analysts, IT technicians, facilities operators, and students to join one of the premier prosecution agencies in the United States. The unparalleled opportunities for challenging, meaningful, and sophisticated work have consistently drawn top candidates to our office over the years.
The SFDA’s Office is committed to the recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion of a diverse staff. A 2016 study by Stanford Law School found that the SFDA's office was the most diverse large county prosecutor's office in California. Specifically, it showed 46.5% of prosecutors in the office are black, Latino, Asian, and other non-white demographics. It also showed the office has the largest population of female prosecutors among large counties at 53.5%.
We believe that our staff should reflect the community we serve and that diversity promotes a stronger office that pursues and projects fair-mindedness to all those coming in contact with the criminal justice system. San Francisco is enriched by its diverse population, and by embracing its diversity we strengthen our ability to carry out the mission of our office.
