Man to be Arraigned on 26 Felony Counts for Three Mission District Sexual Assaults

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Frederick Dozier, Jr., age 32, to be arraigned on a total of 26 felony counts of attempted murder, robbery, and sexual assault. The sexual assaults occurred between June 2011 and December 2011 in the Mission District.

“Today, we are ending this Defendant’s reign of terror. Residents of San Francisco are safer with this violent predator off our streets,” said District Attorney George Gascón. “Thanks to the tireless efforts of the San Francisco Police Department, this individual will now be facing life behind bars.”

The Defendant is allegedly connected to three separate sexual assaults that occurred on:
• Victim 1: June 17, 2011 – Near 24th Street and South Van Ness
• Victim 2: November 18, 2011 – Near 24th Street and Potrero
• Victim 3: December 8, 2011 – Near 24th Street and Fair Oaks

On June 17, 2011 at approximately 2:50am in the area of 24th St. and South Van Ness., Frederick Dozier, Jr. who was allegedly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black clothing approached Victim 1. Dozier allegedly grabbed Victim 1, muffled her screams with his hands, ordered her not to scream and dragged her to a nearby driveway. Dozier then allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed Victim 1 before fleeing on foot.

On November 18, 2011 at approximately 4:00am in the area of 24th St. and Potrero St., Frederick Dozier, Jr., who was allegedly wearing dark clothing, approached Victim 2. Dozier allegedly grabbed Victim 2, choked her and punched her when she refused his demands, then sexually assaulted and robbed her. Dozier then allegedly twisted Victim 2’s neck and used a blunt object to strike her before fleeing on foot.

On December 8, 2011 at approximately 6:20am in the area of 24th St. and Fair Oaks St., Frederick Dozier, Jr, who was allegedly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black clothing, approached Victim 3. Dozier allegedly choked Victim 3 and ordered her not to scream. Dozier allegedly choked Victim 3 unconscious after she struggled. Victim 3 allegedly woke up to Defendant sexually assaulting her. Dozier then allegedly punched Victim 3 in the face, slammed her face into the concrete sidewalk and took her bag before fleeing on foot.

"The Fair Oaks Community Coalition is immensely grateful to the San Francisco Police Department for the focused investigation that has resulted in this arrest,” said Andy Segal, President of Fair Oaks Community Coalition. “We also wish to thank District Attorney Gascón for responding to our neighborhood’s deep concern for the victims of these assaults. FOCC has established a fund to provide financial assistance to the survivors as they recover.” The 24th Street Survivors Fund has already received $12,000 in donations, which will soon be disbursed by the District Attorney’s Victim Services Division. Frederick Dozier, Jr. is currently in custody and was in court on January 11, 2012 at 1:30pm to be arraigned. The hearing was continued until Friday, January 13, 9am, Dept 10. The arrest of Frederick Dozier is the result of a first-rate investigation by Inspectors Nannery and Gillespie of the San Francisco Police Department.
