SAN FRANCISCO, CA – District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Lawrence Brinkin, age 66, was charged with 2 counts of distributing child pornography and 4 counts of possessing child pornography. The defendant allegedly received and sent emails containing pornographic images of children.

“Possession and distribution of child pornography is a serious crime,” said District Attorney George Gascón. “A guilty plea or conviction on any count would require the defendant to register as a sex offender for life.”

On May 8, the San Francisco Police Department was contacted regarding a suspect involved in child pornography. Investigators determined the defendant received e-mails and sent two reply emails containing the child pornography. On June 22, the San Francisco Police Department seized computers belonging to the defendant containing dozens of images of child pornography.

The defendant’s bail was set at $240,000 and he was arraigned earlier today in Department 12. Assistant District Attorney Leslie Cogan arraigned the case.
