San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Gaspar Dzul-Canul (28), has been charged with multiple felonies in connection with 17 residential burglaries throughout San Francisco.
Mr. Dzul-Canul was initially charged in connection to three alleged residential burglary incidents in the Richmond District allegedly committed on May 22, 2205, and May 28, 2025. In that case (Court Number 25011563) he pleaded not guilty and denied all allegations to three counts of first-degree residential burglary as well as unlawful taking of a vehicle and possession of burglar tools. The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office moved to have him detained pending trial in that case because of the public safety risk he posed. The court set no bail and kept Mr. Dzul-Canul in custody.
Since the initial case was charged, San Francisco Police have solved 14 additional residential burglary incidents for which Mr. Dzul-Canul has been charged.
According to court records, in the most recent case filed (Court Number 25015414), Mr. Dzul-Canul allegedly drilled holes into the garage door of the victims’ residences and used an antenna tool to release the emergency latch and open the garage door. He then allegedly stole bicycles from the victims’ garages. On February 2, 2025, at 12:30 AM, Mr. Dzul-Canul is alleged to have burglarized two homes within minutes of each other, stealing two bicycles valued at $14,000 and causing $6,000 in damage to both garage doors. He then allegedly burglarized two homes on the same street in the early morning hours of May 8, 2025, damaging the garage doors of each residence. The court records also allege that on May 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30 AM, Mr. Dzul-Canul burglarized another home, stole two bicycles valued at $7,200, and caused $600 in damage to the garage door. In addition to this case, he has eight pending cases, six felony residential burglary cases, one felony grand theft case, and one misdemeanor petty theft case.
