SAN FRANCISCO PAIR CHARGED IN FILLMORE STREET COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

San Francisco, CA – District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that San Francisco residents Darrell Luckett (18) and Corina Fitch (21) have been charged in connection to a commercial burglary on the 2000 block of Fillmore Street. Mr. Luckkett and Ms. Fitch were arraigned on September 27, 2023, and each pled not guilty to one count of second-degree commercial burglary (PC 459) and one count of grand theft (PC 487).

“As our city continues to combat brazen retail theft, my office will work diligently to hold those who are arrested for these crimes accountable,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “We cannot ignore the impact that this type of crime is having on our retail businesses, their employees and everyday shoppers.”

Mr. Luckett and Ms. Fitch are alleged to have burglarized a clothing retailer on the 2000 block of Fillmore Street. San Francisco Police officers arrested Mr. Luckett and Ms. Fitch on September 20, 2023, at approximately 5:55PM. The retailer’s loss prevention staff identified stolen merchandise from the Fillmore Street location stolen earlier that day. 136 pairs of leggings were recovered worth more than $15,000.

Mr. Luckett and Ms. Fitch’s next court date is October 13, 2023, for a prehearing conference in this matter. The District Attorney’s Office moved to detain both Mr. Luckett and Ms. Fitch pending trial because of the public safety risk they pose. The court did not rule on the People’s motions to detain and released both on their own recognizance. Each is ordered to stay 150 yards away from the retailer and appear at their next and all subsequent court dates. If convicted of all charges, and all allegations are found to be true, Mr. Luckett and Ms. Fitch each face more than three years in State Prison if convicted of all charges and all allegations are found to be true.

Although charges have been filed, this remains an active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Francisco Police Department Tip Line at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous.
