MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER IN CONNECTION TO UNPROVOKED STABBING IN DIVISADERO STREET BAR

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Patrick Hamer (43), was charged in connection to an unprovoked stabbing at a bar on Divisadero Street. He is charged with attempted murder (PC 664/187(a)), with an allegation that he used deadly weapon (PC 12022(b)(1)), and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury on the victim (PC 12022.7(a)). He is also charged with one count of mayhem (PC 203). Mr. Hamer is scheduled to be arraigned July 1, 2025, at 1:30 PM in Department 10 at the Hall of Justice.

Mr. Hamer is currently in custody and the District Attorney’s Office will move to keep him in custody due to the public safety risk he poses.

According to court records, on June 24, 2025, Mr. Hamer allegedly followed the victim into the bathroom of a bar on the 1800 block of Divisadero Street. Allegedly, Mr. Hamer stabbed the victim multiple times in the face, neck, and chest. After the stabbing, Mr. Hamer allegedly fought other patrons attempting to stop him and ultimately fled the scene.
