San Francisco, CA – District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that Joe Lorenzo Neal Jenkins (38) has been charged in connection to possession of hundreds of pounds of illegal fireworks. Mr. Jenkins was arraigned on July 1, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is charged with one count of unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle (VC 10851(a)), receiving stolen property (PC 496(d)(a)), possession of over 100 pounds dangerous fireworks (H&S 12700(b)(3)), and possession of an explosive (H&S 12305).
According to San Francisco Police, on June 26, 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm, San Francisco Police Officers began tracking a U-Haul van that had been reported stolen with assistance from the Real-Time Investigation Center, allowing officers to safely stop the vehicle in the Bayview District and apprehend the alleged driver, Mr. Jenkins. San Francisco police seized hundreds of illegal fireworks, including various rockets and barrel bombs, inside the stolen van that was driving through the city.
