San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Anthony James Tyree (34), also known as Dot, also known as Dot Diggla, was charged in connection to multiple cold case murders in connection to a drive-by shooting in the Bayview District in 2015. He is scheduled to be arraigned on August 19, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 10 at the Hall of Justice. Mr. Tyree is currently in custody. The District Attorney’s Office will move to have him detained pending trial due to the public safety risk he poses.
Mr. Tyree is charged with two counts of murder (PC 187(a)) with several allegations including that he personally and intentionally used a firearm in the commission of the murders (PC 12022.53(d)), and special circumstances including that that he committed multiple murders (PC 190.2(a)(3)), and that he committed drive-by murder (PC 190.2(a)(21)). Mr. Tyree is also charged with attempted murder (PC 664/187) and possession of a firearm by a felon (PC 29800(a)(1).
According to court records, on January 27, 2015, just after 4:00 p.m., Mr. Tyree was allegedly a passenger in a Dodge pick-up traveling southbound on Ingalls Street. Allegedly, the Dodge started to overtake a black Infinity, and Mr, Tyree and another passenger opened fire at the Infinity and its occupants. The barrage of bullets hit and wounded the driver of the Infinity, and hit and killed the passenger. A stray bullet from the shooting hit and killed a woman standing outside her residence with her family. Mr. Tyree was arrested by the San Francisco Police Department on a DA Warrant on August 18, 2025. When he was arrested, an assault rifle ghost gun was located hidden in his alleged bedroom.
Although charges have been filed, and this case is being handled by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Homicide Unit, this remains an active investigation.
