MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE FELONIES IN CONNECTION TO CHILD MOLESTING

San Francisco, CA – District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that Carmelo Hernandez (39) has been charged with multiple felony counts in connection to child molesting incidents involving two minors. Mr. Hernandez is scheduled to be arraigned on January 16, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hall of Justice. The District Attorney’s Office is moving to have Mr. Hernandez detained without bail pending trial because of the public safety risk he poses.

Mr. Hernandez is charged with one count of luring a child for the purpose of committing a lewd act, one count of committing a lewd act on child younger than 14 and two counts of committing lewd acts upon a minor and one count of attempted possession of child sexual abuse material. The criminal complaint also includes an allegation that Mr. Hernandez committed the offense against more than one victim.

According to court records, the victims reported that the incidents occurred in November of 2025 and January of 2026 when Mr. Hernandez coached youth soccer.
