Control

  • Are you in possession of your own identification and travel documents?
  • Are you being told what to say to community members, workers, law enforcement or immigration officials? Is someone else controlling what you say?
  • Are you free to contact friends or family without being coached or monitored what to say?
  • Threats & Harm

  • Are you being physically harmed in any way?
  • Are you being threatened if you try to leave?
  • Have you or your family members been threatened with harm if you attempt to leave?
  • Have you been threatened with deportation or criminal charges?
  • Basic Needs & Conditions

  • Have you been harmed, deprived of food, water, sleep, medical care, or other life necessities?
  • Are you living in substandard housing?
  • Forced Acts

  • Are you being forced or held unwillingly at your job or situation?
  • Is anyone forcing you to do anything you do not want to do?
  • Are you being forced to perform sex acts against your will?
  • Are your wages being unlawfully held or garnished to pay off a debt or fee?
  • Are you under the age of 18 and engaged in commercial sex?
  • Call 911 immediately if you have an emergency
