TWO MINORS CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO FATAL NORTHERN DISTRICT SHOOTING

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that two minors (one 15-year-old and one 16-year-old) arrested by San Francisco Police have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on January 30, 2026. The detention hearing for both minors is scheduled for February 5, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., at the Juvenile Justice Center in Department 3. Due to the ages of the minors, their names are not being released. Because of the public safety risk posed, prosecutors will request that the minors be detained.

The 16-year-old minor is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and other felony charges.

The 15-year-old minor is charged with attempted murder, and other felony charges.

According to San Francisco Police, on January 30, 2026, at approximately 5:13 p.m. San Francisco Police officers from several districts and investigative units responded to Golden Gate Ave. and Laguna St. regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and discovered three juvenile victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and medics arrived on scene and transported the victims to the hospital. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and the other victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of medical staff, a juvenile female victim succumbed to her injuries and was declared deceased in the hospital.
