WOMAN CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER IN CONNECTION WITH FATAL MISSION BAY COLLISION

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Merih Fssha Solomon (47), was charged in connection to a fatal traffic collision in Mission Bay. Ms. Solomon is scheduled to be arraigned on April 14, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hall of Justice. Ms. Solomon is charged with vehicular manslaughter (PC 192(c)(2)).

According to San Francisco Police on February 27, 2026, at approximately 8:55 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of 4th and Channel streets regarding a vehicle striking two pedestrians. Officers arrived on scene and determined the driver struck an adult and 2-year-old child, who were crossing the street. The victims were transported to a local hospital. Despite the lifesaving efforts of first responders and medical staff, the child victim was declared deceased at the hospital.

The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigations Unit (TCIU) took over the investigation. Investigators developed probable cause to arrest the driver, identified as 47-year-old female Merih Fssha Solomon of Walnut Creek for vehicular manslaughter.
