San Francisco, CA – San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that her office secured a conviction of Patrick Davis (55), after a trial by jury. Mr. Davis was convicted of hit and run driving causing injury (VC 20001(a)), two counts of possession of methamphetamine (H&S 11377) and two counts of possession of cocaine base (H&S 11350).
“I would like to thank the jury for their service in this trial and holding Mr. Davis accountable for his crimes,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “I am also grateful to the San Francisco Police for making a quick arrest following this incident that resulted in serious injury to the victim.”
According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, On June 11, 2025, at around 11:00 a.m., Mr. Davis entered his 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe on Eddy Street near the intersection with Mason Street. Mere minutes before entering his vehicle, Mr. Davis walked by the victim who was sleeping on a mattress in front of the Chevrolet Tahoe. Mr. Davis then entered his vehicle and drove it into the victim, dragging him under the vehicle causing injury. Mr. Davis then reversed his vehicle and drove off without stopping. At approximately 1:50 pm, with the assistance of the Real Time Investigation Center, SFPD located Mr. Davis and his vehicle in the same area. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of 10.9 grams of methamphetamine and 3.1 grams of cocaine base. The victim suffered abrasions and severe trauma to his right knee cartilage and bone.
On July 21, 2025, at around 5:31 p.m. on Eddy Street near the intersection with Mason Street, officers arrested Mr. Davis in possession of 7.1 grams of methamphetamine and 3.6 grams of cocaine base.
The case against Mr. Davis was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney André A. Guiulfo, with assistance from paralegal Rayna Bryan, and IT support from Ada Yu. Prosecutors were able to develop a strong case thanks to the dedication of officers who thoroughly investigated this case from the San Francisco Police Department’s Narcotics team.
“I am deeply grateful to the jury for their careful attention to the evidence,” said Assistant District Attorney André A. Guiulfo. “Accidents happen, but drivers have a duty to stop to make sure anyone injured receives assistance. As the jury found, Mr. Davis completely ignored that duty when he drove off and left the victim writhing in pain in the middle of the street. Thanks to SFPD for their quick work in apprehending Mr. Davis, and SFFD for quickly treating the victim.”
Mr. Davis is currently out of custody pending sentencing. Sentencing is scheduled for August 14, 2026.
