JURY CONVICTS WOMAN FOR TRANSPORTATION AND POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE FOR SALE

San Francisco, CA – San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that her office secured a conviction of Christine Kolda (48), after a trial by jury for transportation and possession for sale of methamphetamine. Ms. Kolda was convicted of transportation of a controlled substance for purpose of sale (methamphetamine) (H&S 11379) and possession for sale of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) (H&S 11378).

“My office will continue to do everything we can to close open-air drug markets and ensure that drug traffickers are held accountable,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “I would like to thank the jury for their service and this just verdict that holds Ms. Kolda accountable, recognizing the major impact of these crimes in our community.”

According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, on February 26, 2023, San Francisco Police Officers observed Ms. Kolda driving a Toyota Sienna back to her residence in San Francisco. Officers conducted a search of Ms. Kolda’s vehicle and found three press-lock baggies in her purse, containing a total of 147.5 grams of methamphetamine.

The case against Ms. Kolda was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Dennis Guzman, with assistance from paralegals Katelyn Figueroa, Daniel La, Andres Ruano Hernandez, Jennifer Java and the rest of the General Felony paralegal team. Prosecutors were able to demonstrate a strong case thanks to the dedication of officers who thoroughly investigated this case from the San Francisco Police Department’s Narcotics team and the San Francisco Police Department’s Taraval Station.

“I would like to thank the jury for their thoughtful consideration of the evidence in this case,” said Assistant District Attorney Dennis Guzman. “Their patient deliberation and evaluation of the evidence led to a fair verdict in this case. This conviction shows that San Francisco residents will not tolerate trafficking dangerous narcotics in our community.”

Ms. Kolda is currently out of custody pending sentencing. Sentencing is scheduled for December 12, 2025. She faces up to four years in state prison.
