San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Kejwine Kevin Patts (30) was charged in connection to a crash into a building and two parklets in the Castro. Mr. Patts was arraigned on June 11, 2026, and pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied the allegations.

Mr. Patts is charged with three counts of hit and run driving (PC 20002(a)) and one count of reckless driving (PC 23103(a)).

Mr. Patts was released on his own recognizance by the court, and ordered not to drive between the hours of 10 p.m., and 6 a.m., and to enroll in, attend and successfully complete a driver’s safety course. Mr. Patts’ next court date is September 17, 2026, for a pre-trial conference.

According to San Francisco Police, on May 31, 2026, at approximately 1:48 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the 400 block of Castro Street regarding a solo vehicle collision into a building. When officers arrived on scene, they observed a sedan that was left at the scene.

During a preliminary investigation, officers learned that the vehicle collided into two different parklets on the 400 block of Castro Street and then drove into a business, where the vehicle came to a stop. Officers were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle at the time. The vehicle was towed for further investigation, and there were no reports of injuries.

With the assistance of the public and a thorough investigation by the Traffic Collision Investigations Unit (TCIU), the suspect driver was identified as 30-year-old Kejwine Patts of Oakland.

On June 5, 2026, TCIU investigators, with the assistance of the Citywide Plainclothes Team, located Mr. Patts and coordinated his peaceful surrender.
