San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Jian Feng Huang (37) was charged with attempted murder in connection to a stabbing that occurred on March 5, 2026, in Chinatown. Mr. Huang is charged with attempted murder, with an allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon and personally inflicted great bodily injury on the victim.
The District Attorney’s Office moved to have Mr. Huang detained pending trial without bail due to the public safety risk he poses at his first court appearance on March 9, 2026. No bail was set and he remains in custody. His arraignment was continued to March 10, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Department 9 at the Hall of Justice.
According to court documents, on March 5, 2026, at San Francisco Police located the victim near the intersection of Stockton Street and Sacramento Street on the ground bleeding with a stab wound. Witnesses reported that Mr. Huang, allegedly, approached the victim from behind and stabbed him in the back. After the stabbing, allegedly, Mr. Huang walked away. Surveillance video from a business near the scene corroborated the witness’ statements and allegedly show Mr. Huang allegedly stabbing the victim in the back without provocation.
