Prosecutors seeking pre-trial detention without bail for a man who drew swastikas and wrote antisemitic and homophobic graffiti on a church, a mailbox, a utility box and a parking meter
San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Sadat Mousa (51) has been charged following an antisemitic and homophobic vandalism incident that occurred on February 28, 2026.
Mr. Mousa is scheduled to be arraigned on March 4, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., in the Hall of Justice. He is charged with two counts of felony vandalism with hate crime enhancements, two counts of felony vandalism of a place of worship with hate crime enhancements, felony placement of a swastika, and one count of misdemeanor vandalism.
The District Attorney’s Office will move to have him detained pending trial without bail due to the public safety risk he poses.According to court documents, on February 28, 2026, at approximately 7:48 a.m., Mr. Mousa allegedly used a can of gold spray paint and markers to vandalize the Central Seventh Day Adventist Church, a mailbox, a utility box, and a parking meter near the corner of California Street and Broderick Street. Allegedly, Mr. Mousa drew several swastikas and the following words on the church: “F*** the Jews god,” “F****** KFC,” “Mexcan [sic] we call them f****** and we kill them KFC Jews,” “Hitler Hero,” “Kill F*** KFC,” and “Hamas.” Allegedly, he wrote similar antisemitic and homophobic messages on the mailbox, utility box and the parking meter. San Francisco Police’s subsequent investigation revealed that Mr. Mousa possessed a carpet with a swastika on it as well as a table inscribed with “Hitler is a real Hero.” A social media account controlled by Mr. Mousa revealed several videos where Mr. Mousa expresses similar hate-filled antisemitic and homophobic sentiments with Mr. Mousa making a beheading gesture. In one video, Mr. Mousa says “The Jewish and the f***** not real or normal human beings. Those are the real devils on planet Earth. [Draws hand across neck] You gotta chop the children’s head first.”
