MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN CONNECTION TO FATAL SHOOTING IN SOMA

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Siaosi Aleamotuay (33) was charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on March 4, 2026. Mr. Aleamotuay is scheduled to be arraigned on March 6, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in the Hall of Justice. Mr. Aleamotuay is charged with murder, with an allegation that he personally used a deadly firearm in the commission of the murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

The District Attorney’s Office will move to have Mr. Aleamotuay detained pending trial without bail due to the public safety risk he poses.

According to court documents, on March 4, 2026, San Francisco Police responded to the one hundred block of Sixth Street regarding a shooting and located a victim laying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Investigators recovered surveillance footage that captured the incident, allegedly showing Mr. Aleamotuay in the area before retrieving his backpack, removing a gun, crossing the street and shooting the victim who appeared to be unarmed.
