MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN CONNECTION TO FATAL STABBING

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Wilfredo Jose Tortolero Arriechi (34) was charged with murder in connection to a fatal stabbing at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Mr. Tortolero Arriechi is scheduled to be arraigned on December 9, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., in Department 19 at the Hall of Justice. The District Attorney’s Office will move to have him detained pending trial without bail due to the public safety risk he poses.

Mr. Tortolero Arriechi is charged with one count of murder, with an allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon (knife) in the commission of the murder.

According to court documents, on December 4, 2025, Mr. Tortolero Arriechi allegedly went to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Ward 86 to speak to a doctor. Allegedly, he had a concealed knife with him. Allegedly Mr. Tortolero Arriechi appeared calm and engaged in a conversation with a social worker and was advised to leave. Allegedly he and the victim walked to the elevator together when he suddenly grabbed the victim from behind and stabbed him numerous times. Although lifesaving care was immediately provided to the victim he died from his injuries.
