MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN CONNECTION TO FATAL TENDERLOIN SHOOTING

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Deon Jackson (49) was charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting in the Tenderloin. Mr. Jackson was arraigned on December 4, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied the allegations. Mr. Jackson is charged with murder, with an allegation that he personally and intentionally used a firearm in the commission of the murder and a special circumstance allegation that the murder was committed during the commission of a robbery. He is also charged with two counts of discharging a firearm at an occupied motor vehicle, two counts of second-degree robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of possession of an assault weapon.

The District Attorney’s Office moved to have him detained pending trial without bail due to the public safety risk he poses. The court set no bail. Mr. Jackson’s next court date is December 18, 2025, to set a date for the preliminary hearing.

According to court documents, on December 2, 2025, at approximately 6:06 a.m., SFPD officers responded to the one hundred block of Turk Street. regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, SFPD officers located the victim in a car, sitting in the driver seat and suffering from a gunshot wound. Surveillance video footage allegedly shows Mr. Jackson and two other individuals looking into the victim’s car before Mr. Jackson allegedly brings out a firearm, opens the front passenger door and shoots inside the vehicle. Seconds later Mr. Jackson is allegedly seen fleeing the scene on video while an unknown suspect removes items from the vehicle. Additional surveillance video footage allegedly shows Mr. Jackson flee on a black scooter to a location on the 300 block of Taylor Street where he was apprehended at approximately 8:02 a.m., less than two hours after the murder was allegedly committed.

Although charges have been filed, and this case is being handled by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Homicide Unit, this remains an active investigation.
