San Francisco, CA – San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that her office secured a conviction of Luca Jackson Krakower (28), after a trial by jury for multiple incidents of domestic violence. Mr. Krakower was convicted of domestic violence (PC 273.5(a)), two counts of false imprisonment (PC 236), and battery (PC 243(e)(1)).
“I would like to thank the jury for their service in this trial,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “This verdict holds Mr. Krakower accountable and delivers justice to the survivor. Domestic violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. My office takes these cases seriously and will do everything in our power to ensure there is justice and help survivors heal.”
According to the testimony and evidence presented at trial, on December 11,2024, Mr. Krakower demanded the victim’s cell phone. Upon refusal, Mr. Krakower violently attacked the victim. Mr. Krakower then followed the victim into the bathroom as she tried to escape and violently attacked her again. Following the attack Mr. Krakower would not allow the victim to leave the apartment or the bathroom. On December 19, 2024, Mr. Krakower again violently attacked the victim when she refused to provide her cell phone and debit card.
The case against Mr. Krakower was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Mary Polk with assistance from paralegals Lena Ku and Loretta Luu, Hang Ngo from the subpoena unit and IT support from Noaeh Pinaire. Victim Advocates Janet Pedroza and Alma Garcia worked closely with the victim through the pendency of this case. Prosecutors were able to develop a strong case against Mr. Krakower based on the work of SFPD’s Special Victims Unit for their thorough and careful investigation.
“I’m humbled to have played a part in this domestic violence survivor finally having her day in court, and I’m grateful to the San Franciscans who served on this jury,” said Assistant District Attorney Mary Polk. “Domestic violence cases are inherently different than most criminal cases, and it’s incredibly encouraging to have tried this case in front of 12 people who recognized those inherent differences, listened to the facts, evaluated the evidence, and arrived at a just verdict.”
Mr. Krakower is currently out of custody. Sentencing is scheduled for November 7, 2025.
