Two individuals have been charged with felony weapon possession charges for possession of handguns, rifles, assault weapons and ghost guns by convicted felons
San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced multiple felony charges against Arturo Osorio and Faalavelave Ulavale for possession of firearms and assault weapons by convicted felons. Osorio is charged for possession of numerous handguns, rifles, and assault weapons. Ulavale was charged for possession of a .40 caliber handgun. Members of the San Francisco Police Department’s Crime Gun Investigations Center served search warrants on the defendants in connection to multiple shooting investigations beginning in March of 2021 and continuing through September of 2022 in the Bayview.
“Gun violence is tearing communities apart and we need to do everything in our power to take guns off the streets,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “We applaud the San Francisco Police Department for their hard work and investigation. Our office will hold Osorio and Ulavale accountable for these crimes and will use every legal means available to us to prosecute all gun crimes in effort to stem the rising tide of gun violence in our community.”
Osorio was arrested at a residence on the 100 block of Northridge Road. Three handguns, an assault pistol, one rifle and two loaded assault rifles were found at the residence. Officers also seized numerous high-capacity firearm magazines and several accessories including a scope and flashlight. An unfinished ghost gun was also recovered. Ulavale was arrested in possession of a firearm outside of his residence, also located on the 100 block of Northridge Road.
Osorio is in custody and was arraigned on October 3, 2022. Ulavale posted bond on a $75,000 bail set by the court and is scheduled to be arraigned on October 31, 2022 in Department 11.
