San Francisco, CA – San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that her office secured a conviction of Keith Davila (27), after a trial by jury for violating the terms of a criminal protective order. Mr. Davila was convicted of violating a court order (PC 166(c)(1)).
“I would like to thank the jury for their service on this trial,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “Compliance with restraining orders is not optional. We take these cases seriously as violations of restraining orders are often the precursor to future violence. My office will always do everything we can to prevent violence and protect the safety of the public.”
According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, the Superior Court of San Francisco issued a criminal protective order in December 2023 ordering Mr. Davila to stay 150 yards away from the protected party and her home. Nevertheless, in February of 2024, he ignored the terms of the valid Court order by returning to the protected address despite the Court’s prohibition. The protected party found and reported the violation to the San Francisco Police Department who investigated the violation and arrested the Mr. Davila. While out-of-custody, he again violated the same protective order in San Mateo County in July of 2024 by contacting the protected person despite the Court’s clear prohibition.
The case against Mr. Davila was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gwendolyn West with assistance from District Attorney Investigators Dana Lee, Molly Braun, Rosana Figueroa, paralegals Lena Ku and Loretta Luu, and Cassidy Schreiner and IT support from Noaeh Pinaire and Morris Moore. Victim Advocate Alma Garcia, Jodee Brown and Janet Pedroza worked closely with the protected parties through the pendency of this case. Prosecutors were able to develop a strong case against Mr. Davila based on the San Francisco Police Department’s quick response, investigation and assistance.
“Our community has stood by both the victim and the San Francisco courts in this case by holding the Mr. Davila responsible for violating the court’s order,” said Assistant District Attorney Gwendolyn West. “I am grateful to the jury for their diligent work.”
