San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Jose Ramos-Erazo (36) and Jonathan Ramos-Erazo (33), have been charged in connection to narcotics trafficking in the Tenderloin. San Francisco Police seized over 18 pounds of narcotics from the Ramos-Erazo brothers when they were arrested at 11PM on May 23, 2024. Both men were arraigned on May 29, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The Ramos-Erazo brothers are each charged with multiple felony counts of possession for sale of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine salt, and cocaine base. Mr. Jonathan Ramos-Erazo is also charged with one count of transportation, sale and giving away a controlled substance. The criminal complaint also alleges that they had over four kilos of fentanyl (almost nine pounds) (H&S 11370.4(b)(2)) and more than one kilo of methamphetamine (more than two pounds) (H&S 11370.4(b)(1)).
“Drug trafficking in San Francisco is responsible for thousands of deaths and the misery of users and neighbors who live and work amongst the deadly trade,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “My administration will continue to do everything we can to protect the safety of the public and prosecute brazen drug dealers.”
According to court records, at the conclusion of a long-term investigation, on May 23, 2024, the police apprehended both men leaving a parking lot at 750 Bush Street. They were found in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine base, heroin and cash. A search of two Oakland residences also revealed more narcotics, including large amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine, such that the combined weights of all fentanyl seized exceeded 5.9 kilograms (over thirteen pounds) and methamphetamine exceeded 1.9 kilograms (more than four pounds).
The next court date for each of the Ramos-Erazo brothers is June 11, 2024, for the preliminary hearing in this matter. The District Attorney’s Office moved to have them detained pending trial because of the public safety risk they pose. The court set no bail for either of them. They both remain in custody.
