PROLIFIC TAGGER CHARGED WITH FELONY VANDALISM

San Francisco, CA – District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that Brian Wabl (41) has been charged in connection to a tagging incident in the South of Market neighborhood. Mr. Wabl was arraigned on October 18, 2023, and pled not guilty to one count of felony vandalism.

“I would like to thank the witness who came forward and helped San Francisco Police make this arrest,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “Taggers and others who randomly vandalize other people’s property must be held accountable for their impact on residents and businesses throughout the city.”

Mr. Wabl is alleged to have tagged “GOER” on the exterior wall of a business located on the 1100 block of Howard Street.

Mr. Wabl was taken into custody by San Francisco Police on October 15, 2023. The District Attorney’s Office filed a motion to detain Mr. Wabl pending trial. The court set bail in the amount of $25,000 and he is currently in custody. If he is released from custody, he is ordered to not possess vandalism tools, including spray paint and graffiti tools. He is also ordered to stay away from the business on the 1100 block of Howard Street. The preliminary hearing in this matter has been scheduled for October 31, 2023.
