SAN FRANCISCO MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO OCEAN AVENUE NIGHTCLUB SHOOTING

San Francisco, CA – District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced today that Salvador Rodriguez (42) has been charged in connection to a shooting on the 300 block of Ocean Avenue.  Mr. Rodriguez was arraigned on August 3, 2023, and pled not guilty to all charges and allegations.  Mr. Rodriguez is charged with attempted murder (PC 664/187(a)), two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm (PC 245(b)), one count of being a violent felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29900), one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800), possession of a loaded firearm in a public place (PC 25850(a)), possession of a concealed firearm (PC 25400(a)(2), and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon (PC 30305(a)(1).  

“The Ocean Avenue night club shooting was horrifying and demonstrates the dangers of gun violence,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.  “These types of violent acts are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  Brazen shootings like the one that Mr. Rodriguez is accused of will be prosecuted vigorously by my office on behalf of the victims and city residents who just want to feel safe in their own neighborhoods.”

Mr. Rodriguez’s is alleged to have shot three people at a nightclub on the 300 block of Ocean Avenue on June 10, 2023.  San Francisco Police found the victims in the nightclub rendered aid and summoned medics.  The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.  San Francisco Police arrested Mr. Rodriguez on July 27, 2023.  He is on felony probation in connection to a previous assault with a deadly weapon conviction.

Mr. Rodriguez’s next court date is August 16, 2023, for the preliminary hearing in this matter.  The court granted the People’s motion to detain Mr. Rodriguez in custody and set no bail.  If convicted of all charges, and all allegations are found to be true, he faces 44 years to life in State Prison.
