SANTA ROSA MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN CONNECTION TO FATAL DUI COLLISION

San Francisco, CA -Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Jayden Elliot Patrick (21), of Santa Rosa, was charged in connection with a fatal high-speed collision in the Ingleside District. Mr. Patrick is charged with two counts of murder (PC 187(a)) and one count of reckless driving (VC 23103(a)) with an allegation that it caused injury (VC 23105(a)) and three counts of diving under the influence of alcohol causing injury (VC 23153(a)) with allegations that he caused great bodily injury (PC 12022.7(a)). He is scheduled to be arraigned today, November 27, 2024, at 1:30 PM in Department 10 at the Hall of Justice. The District Attorney’s Office moved to have him detained pending trial due to the public safety risk he poses.

“I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of the murder victims and my office’s support to all impacted by this tragic incident, including the victims who are still recovering from their injuries,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “My office will do everything in our power to fight for justice in the courtroom for all victims here. This case is a tragic reminder that drinking, driving and speeding are a lethal combination with devastating impacts.”

According to San Francisco Police, on November 25, 2024, at approximately 1:20 am SFPD officers from Taraval Station responded to Grafton and Jules Aves. regarding a vehicle collision involving injuries. Officers arrived on scene and located two vehicles involved in a major collision. Officers observed the two occupants of one vehicle with life-threatening injuries. Officers rendered aid and medics arrived on scene. Despite the life-saving efforts of emergency responders the two adult female occupants of the victim vehicle were declared deceased on scene. Officers observed the second involved vehicle at the scene with multiple occupants. The investigation determined that there were four adult occupants in the second vehicle. Three of the occupants were transported to the hospital, one of which had life-threatening injuries and two had non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Patrick, the alleged driver, was arrested by the San Francisco Police Traffic Collision Investigations Unit.

Although charges have been filed, and this case is being handled by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Homicide Unit, this remains an active investigation.
