“Fencing stolen goods incentivizes organized retail theft, commercial burglaries and other dangerous criminal conduct that is deeply impacting our residents and businesses,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.  “My office will work with our law enforcement partners to dismantle these networks and seek to hold those who profit from crime accountable.  This conduct is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”

According to San Francisco Police, Retail Loss Prevention Officers and SFPD officers identified two illegal street vending booths that had suspected stolen merchandise displayed for sale. The branded merchandise located at these booths were displayed with branded retail store tags, security tags, and/or other identifiable antitheft devices affixed to the clothing.  Through the course of their investigation, Officers were able to determine that items displayed for sale had been stolen from numerous bay area retail locations. Altogether, officers recovered approximately $16,066.60 worth of stolen retail merchandise and arrested two people who were in possession of these items.

Ms. Lumbreras-Villanueva and Ms. Ramirez next court date is November 9, 2023, to set the date for the preliminary hearing in this matter.  If convicted of all charges and all allegations are found to be true, Ms. Lumbreras-Villanueva and Ms. Ramirez each face more than three years in State Prison.
