Public Health is Public Safety: Behavioral Health Care in San Francisco

San Francisco’s largest mental health facility is the county jail. We have an overdose crisis. We have people with untreated mental illness who are not only without access to treatment, but without access to housing. Too often, those in need of care are instead funneled into a justice system that is neither designed for nor well-suited to providing treatment or solutions for these crises.

District Attorney Chesa Boudin will moderate two panel discussions:

Locked Up and Locked Out: The Intersection of Behavioral Health and the Criminal Legal System in San Francisco

Care, Not Cages: Towards a Public Health Response to Behavioral Health Needs

We look forward to seeing you there.
