San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Nanette Musto (51), a deputy with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, has been charged in connection to an incident that occurred in San Francisco County Jail #2. Ms. Musto is scheduled to be arraigned on July 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 17 at the Hall of Justice.
Ms. Musto is charged with battery (PC 242) and one misdemeanor count of assault by a public officer (PC 149).
According to court documents, on July 12, 2025, while on duty at County Jail No. 2 and apparently due to rumors being spread by other jail inmates, Deputy Nanette Musto of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office asked a female inmate whether she had surgically augmented her body. The incident, which was captured on jail surveillance footage, caused the inmate to feel humiliated and embarrassed.
