San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced six individuals were charged with multiple felonies in connection to narcotics trafficking in the Tenderloin on January 15, 2026. Each of the six defendants arraigned on January 20, 2026, pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all allegations, including two individuals who in addition to multiple narcotics trafficking charges were also charged with unlawful gun and ammunition possession. The court released five individuals charged and continued the hearing on one individual’s motion for release on his own recognizance to January 23, 2026.
All of these individuals were arrested in a Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC) narcotics operation focused on those selling illegal narcotics on the street. According to San Francisco Police, during the arrests, officers located and seized over one pound of suspected illegal narcotics, including fentanyl, cocaine base, heroin, methamphetamine, and prescription medication. During the operation officers discovered two suspects in possession of loaded firearms, which officers seized and added additional charges.
In that case, according to court records, three individuals, Josue Flores-Martinez (23), Luis Murillo-Galiano (28), and Eduardo Palma-Guillen (27), were allegedly acting together in an open-air drug market while armed with firearms and high-capacity magazines and significant quantities of narcotics. On January 15, 2026, at 5:34 a.m., SFPD conducted an undercover “buy-bust” operation at Market Street and Mason Street. An Officer walked up to a group and asked to purchase $20 of methamphetamine. Allegedly, Mr. Murillo-Galiano and Mr. Palma-Guillen were standing together and sold the officer 2.4 grams of methamphetamine. Allegedly, after the sale, Mr. Murillo-Galiano and Mr. Flores-Martinez walked away together, while Mr. Palma-Guillen crossed Market Street.
Officers then contacted all three individuals. Officers searched Mr. Murillo-Galiano and located 25.6 grams of methamphetamine, 19.9 grams of fentanyl, a digital scale, and an unloaded .38 Taurus revolver handgun. Officers also located seven live .380 rounds of ammunition in a pouch in Mr. Murillo-Galiano’s backpack. Officers searched Mr. Palma-Guillen and located 19 grams of fentanyl, 14.2 grams of cocaine base, 15 grams of methamphetamine, and 28.9 grams of heroin. Officers searched Mr. Flores-Martinez and located 190.6 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol, loaded high-capacity pistol magazines, digital scale, plastic baggies, and US currency.
As of January 17, 2026, we have 1,217 defendants with pending felony narcotics cases, of which almost 60% (702) have bench warrants issued for failure to appear in court.
